Costumed dancers perform the “Xugou Beitiegun” in Qingxu county, north China’s Shanxi Province. “Xugou Beitiegun” is a popular folk dance art. An adult at the bottom carries a character played by a child standing on the top of a special iron rod which connects them. On the top of the iron rod, the lovely opera character played by the child dances to the rhythm of the music. (People’s Daily Online/Wang Fan)
