China dominates Asian Table Tennis Team Championships

NEW DELHI, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- China swept both the men's and women's titles with identical 3-0 victories in the finals of the ITTF-ATTU 28th Asian Table Tennis Team Championships in Bhubaneswar, India on Wednesday.
After edging Japan 3-2 in a dramatic men's semifinal, China carried that momentum into the final against Hong Kong, China, to successfully defend its men's team crown.
World No. 2 Lin Shidong gave China a strong start, defeating Wong Chun Ting 11-8, 11-4, 11-4. Top-ranked Wang Chuqin then battled past Chan Baldwin 12-10, 11-9, 5-11, 14-12 before Liang Jingkun sealed the win with a 13-11, 11-6, 12-10 victory over Yiu Kwan To.

In the women's team final, China continued its dominance with a commanding 3-0 win over defending champion Japan. Wang Manyu opened with a 10-12, 11-3, 11-6, 11-3 comeback against Honoka Hashimoto, while world No. 1 Sun Yingsha eased past Miwa Harimoto 11-9, 11-5, 11-7. Kuai Man completed the sweep with an 8-11, 12-10, 11-6, 11-9 win over Hina Hayata.
