China Pavilion concludes 6-month showcase at Osaka Expo
OSAKA, Japan, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- The China Pavilion at the Osaka Expo 2025 held its closing ceremony on Monday evening, marking the successful conclusion of its six-month exhibition journey.
The ceremony took place in the pavilion's multifunctional hall, and were attended by guests from political and business circles of Japan and China, and representatives from the Expo circle.
Participants highly praised its achievements in exhibition design, cultural exchange, and international cooperation.
Masayoshi Matsumoto, chairman of the Kansai Economic Federation of Japan, said in his speech that the China Pavilion showcased China's rich history, culture, and technological achievements, effectively deepening Japan-China exchanges. He expressed the hope that both sides would continue to work together toward the Expo's vision of a green future society.
Li Qingshuang, commissioner general of the China Pavilion and vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), noted that the pavilion had won the Gold Award for Exhibition Design among large self-built pavilions from the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) -- the first time China has received a gold award at a comprehensive World Expo held abroad.
Li said the pavilion had become a vivid and dynamic name card for China, telling Chinese stories and delivering Chinese voices.
During the Expo, the China Pavilion welcomed nearly two million visitors, an average of over 10,000 visitors daily.
