7 dead in cloudburst in Indian-controlled Jammu, Kashmir

NEW DELHI, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least seven people, including five children, died and four others were injured after a cloudburst hit Jodh Ghati area of Kathua district in Indian-controlled Jammu and Kashmir, a local police officer said on Sunday.
The tragedy occurred between 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. when flash floods and landslides caused by cloudburst struck the area.
Rescue operations were still ongoing to bring out victims from the affected area.
Earlier this week, a cloudburst hit a village in Kishtwar district of Indian-controlled Jammu and Kashmir, claiming at least 60 lives, and nearly 100 people went missing.
