China's Yunnan donates solar streetlights to Myanmar

YANGON, July 24 (Xinhua) -- A donation ceremony for China-aided solar-powered streetlights was held in Yangon on Thursday.
At the event, 40 solar streetlights, provided by the Yunnan Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, were handed over to the chairman of the Thaketa township administration body.
The donation aimed to improve night travel safety and reduce electricity costs. It also helped strengthen friendship between China and Myanmar.
