As a journalist from Bangladesh, my recent journey to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the first provincial-level autonomous region established in China, has been nothing short of transformative.
Arriving on May 12, I was immediately captivated by the stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and warmth of the residents of Hohhot, the capital city of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
One of the first impressions that struck me upon landing was the purity of the air. In a world still grappling with pollution and environmental challenges, the region's strides toward clean air are evident.
Walking through the streets, I found myself taking deep breaths, relishing in the freshness of the environment. The government's commitment to environmental policies is apparent, with numerous green initiatives promoting cleaner air and sustainable living. These efforts have created an atmosphere where residents and visitors alike can thrive in a healthier, more invigorating climate.

Replying to a question about how Inner Mongolia achieved significant environmental progress, Wu Hailong, president of the China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA), said that the central government places great importance on improving the environment.
The government has invested heavily in environmental improvements, especially in northern China, over the past 20 years.
In collaboration with local authorities, the central government has focused on raising people's living standards.
Alongside financial support, public awareness is key to achieving overall development, added the CPDA president.
He further emphasized that public awareness is very, very important. Progress becomes much easier if people, including children, develop an ecological mindset.
"Protect the environment, protect the ecosystem. Gradually, I believe the entire ecosystem and environment will improve," he added.

The beauty of Inner Mongolia is reflected not only in its air quality but also in the meticulously maintained roads adorned with vibrant flowers and greenery.
The picturesque landscapes of both urban and rural areas offer a striking contrast to the busy lives people lead.
Parks, lakes and huge grassland located in Inner Mongolia's Hohhot and Ulanqab showcase the country's dedication to maintaining serene spaces amid urban development.
These places, filled with the fragrance of blossoms and the sound of birds, provide a welcome retreat for city dwellers and visitors alike.

Moreover, the foods in this region are truly a feast for the senses. Eating fruits and vegetables here has been a revelation; their authentic taste and flavor amazed me.
During the visit, I visited the Yili Modern Intelligent Health Valley and Fresh Milk Station, where I encountered an astonishing array of around 1,000 products. The opportunity to taste a selection of these items was a highlight of my journey.

With each bite, I felt the purity and freshness of Chinese agriculture.
The vibrant flavors of the fruits and vegetables showcase the essence of nature, offering an enjoyable and nourishing culinary experience.
My colleagues and I had the opportunity to visit the Qahar Right Wing Front Banner Plant Factory Complex. The project spans approximately 1.57 hectares and features 18 cultivation modules — 17 dedicated to strawberry cultivation and one for leafy greens. We were fortunate to taste red and white strawberries, which were truly amazing — delicious and mouthwatering.

The warmth and hospitality of the Chinese people have made my stay even more special. Everywhere I turn, I am greeted with smiles and kindness that transcend cultural barriers.
Conversations with locals, filled with laughter and mutual curiosity, have opened my eyes to the depth of cultural exchange and understanding. Whether it's a simple nod from a passerby or an invitation to join a family meal, the welcoming spirit of China creates an atmosphere of unity and connection.
As my journey continues, I am reminded that my experience in China is not just a visit but an enriching chapter that highlights the beauty of global cultures and the pursuit of purity — be it in air, nature, food or human connections.
Thanks to Global Times Online and the CPDA for hosting such an incredible visit as part of the "Travelogue of China" initiative.
In a world that often seems divided, my time in China has been a refreshing reaffirmation of the potential for harmony and respect between different cultures.
It is a vivid reminder that purity can exist in many forms and that travel can be a powerful avenue for understanding and celebrating our shared humanity.
