BEIJING, July 8 -- China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng met with visiting Mexican Senate President Miguel Barbosa Huerta on Wednesday.
Hailing the development of the China-Mexico comprehensive strategic partnership, Yu called on the two countries to continue to handle the relationship from a strategic and long-term view, and understand and support each other on issues concerning their respective core interests.
The two countries should further strengthen substantial cooperation to serve their national development, Yu said.
Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), also briefed the guests on China's political consultative system.
He said the CPPCC, China's top political consultative body, will further exchanges with the Mexican side to promote bilateral cooperation and contribute to the development of China-Mexico relations.
Barbosa said the senate will continue to play a positive role for the development of the bilateral comprehensive and strategic ties.
Barbosa will conclude his four-day China tour on Wednesday.
