BEIJING, Feb 10 (People's Daily Online) – China's Spring Festival is just around the corner. Dutch Ambassador Aart Jacobi extends Spring Festival greetings and wishes to the Chinese people as follows.

On behalf of the people of the Netherlands, I wish all of you a very happy, healthy and prosperous Year of the Sheep!

我代表荷蘭人民祝大家羊年快樂、身體健康、萬事如意！

We're looking forward to a year with many highlights in our ever improving bilateral relations. We wish our partnership and economic, political, cultural, social and trade cooperation to flourish and grow.

我們期待在新的一年里，兩國雙邊關(guān)系持續(xù)發(fā)展，亮點(diǎn)不斷涌現(xiàn)。希望中荷兩國的伙伴關(guān)系及經(jīng)濟(jì)、政治、文化、社會和經(jīng)貿(mào)領(lǐng)域的合作蓬勃發(fā)展。

The sheep is a symbol of peace, harmonious co-existence and tranquility. In this special year the world celebrates the 70th birthday of the United Nations and commemorates the end of the World War II. In the NL, we take these occasions to celebrate peace, freedom and tolerance.

羊是和平、和諧共存與安寧的象征。在這個(gè)特殊的年份里，全球?qū)c祝聯(lián)合國70歲生日并紀(jì)念二戰(zhàn)結(jié)束70周年。在荷蘭，我們借此機(jī)會慶祝和平、自由與寬容。

Sheep is also a symbol of the arts. In spring, Dutch Days will be held in several Chinese cities and will offer a good opportunity for Chinese people to experience and enjoy Dutch arts and culture. We will also use the Dutch Days to introduce examples of Dutch creativity and innovation to the wider public.

羊也是藝術(shù)的象征。我們將在數(shù)個(gè)中國城市舉辦春季荷蘭日活動，中國人可以借此機(jī)會體驗(yàn)和欣賞荷蘭的藝術(shù)文化。同時(shí)，我們也將利用荷蘭日將荷蘭人的創(chuàng)造力和創(chuàng)新典范介紹給更廣泛的大眾。
