BEIJING, July 18 -- China's central authorities have made a decision to remove Han Xiancong, vice chairman of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, from his post.

An official with the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) confirmed this on Friday.

The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection had put Han under investigation for suspected serious discipline and law violation.
