Focusing on building a closer community of shared future between China and Africa, the upcoming 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) is expected to set a new path for a higher-level of China-Africa cooperation, Chinese experts and scholars told People’s Daily. The meeting will also give a boost to bilateral people-to-people bonds, they added ahead of the summit to be held on September 3 and 4, which is eagerly awaited by the international community.
A China-Africa youth summer camp kicked off on Monday under the theme of “China-Africa Friendship, Youthful Aspiration”. Organized by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban), the event was attended by 300 students from 23 African countries and 10 Chinese universities.

With the 2018 Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) scheduled for September 3-4, China is gearing up to receive delegates from the African continent to discuss progress in the strategic relationship and map out the future of a win-win model that is at the core of China's engagement internationally. That calls for efforts to seek out the opportunities that the FOCAC platform offers to Chinese and African state and non-state actors with regard to the 21st century's economic changes, as well as their impact on restructuring the partnership model from trading and infrastructure to a technology-based partnership.
